Is C1E1TN9300XF Mandatory for Nexus Switches?

The SKU 'C1E1TN9300XF-3Y' is for 3 years Cisco Essentials licensing, it isn't mandatory however if we want to make of layer 3 and above features on the switch we will need to add a license for the switch:
